Core Cases Aluminum Slider for iPhone 3G Review

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Many metal bodied iPod cases have been released in the last four years by the iPod. The iPhone and iPhone 3G are probably more challenging to make cases for because of their build. This $30 case is highly evolved and is a new perspective on such cases altogether.

The signal is a bit weaker due to the case but this is more important for users in areas where the signal is weak. This is one good looking metal case…gives your 3G the cover of a tank.

Griffin Clarifi Case with Built in Close Up Lens for iPhone 3G Review

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Griffins Clarifi case costs $35 but provides great value for the price. The design seems inspired by Slider. It works with every accessory without removing it from the case. Also included is a full screen protector and cleaning cloth. This case offers great protection and we can see that a lot of though went into its making.

One feature of the Clarifi makes it completely different. It has a sliding macro lens that can help the camera take clear close up pics. The color rendition is not magically enhanced but the ability of the device to focus on nearby objects is. There is definitely finer detail in the pic.

Uniea U-Suit Premium for iPhone 3G

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

The Uniea U-Suit Premium for iPhone 3G is the latest in leather cases for the iPhone. It costs $35. Uniea is a near duplication of the concept pioneered by an Argentine company called Vaja. The design is a near duplication but the price is lower. After Vaja released the ultra expensive and slick iVolution Silver with silver accents to the clean leather iPhone hard case, Uniea responded by releasing the U-Suit Premium.

Although not as great as the iVolution Silver, the price level was more in line with a mass appeal case. The quality control over the past several months hasn’t been up to the mark. Now the U-Suit Premium can easily be mistaken for a cheap imitation of the iVolution Silver. The silver frames often look roughed up.

JAVOedge Indented JAVOSkin for iPhone 3G Review

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

The idea to envelop a device be it your iPod or iPhone in a rubber case, on the back and sides with the screen protected by a thin film has been embraced by most. This trend has only been accelerated with the coming of the iPhone 3G. Largely, silicone cases tend to similar to each other differing in only the way the rubber is molded, amount of rubber employed to cover the iPhone 3G and the cost of the finished product.

The present JAVOedge’s Indented JAVASkin which costs $20 comes with visible improvements to the last year’s version. The most apparent is the price which is a few dollars less and now at par with other similar rubber cases. A rather pleasing change is the complete removal of the generic aesthetics and undoubtedly hideous molding. This has been replaced by a clean, black or white design. The case’s back has a series of horizontal bar grooves and the holes have been cut-to precision for the iPhone 3G’s features and controls. The grooves however have an irritating tendency to pick up dust.
