Proclip Adjustable Holder with Pass Through Connector for iPhone + iPod Touch
Proclip has come out with a number of car mounts over the past few years. Many of their car mount releases have been much more costly than those of their competitors. This latest $100 mount is adjustable and useful. It is also very expensive. This is what the accessory does- an encased iPhone or iPod Touch can be mounted on top of a male dock connector with a female dock connector port at the bottom which lets you connect to your favorite audio accessory. The holder also works with the latest Apple and third party cables.
The only issue is that you will also need to connect a vehicle specific bracket which will cost $30 more. There is a bit of complex arrangement to be done after that. Once it is accomplished you have an iPod stand that has tilt swivel functionality that lets you adjust it to your eyes for easy viewing. If you choose to spend the $130, you get something that fits your favorite gadget even when it is in a case. Unfortunately you will need to buy a charger and an audio out solution. So you end up with a huge price of $155 atleast!
There are other accessories in the market that cost up to $100 less and offer only a mild discomfort compared to this one. This one offers the most vehicle specific mounting solution out there. It isn’t bad. Buy it if you have the extra moolah. If it cost half this amount I would recommend it. As it is however, it isn’t highly recommended. Buy it if you have the cash.
