Griffin Powerblock Powerjolt + Powerduo Reserve Review

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Although iPod chargers and rechargeable batteries are not new, Griffin has combined them together to make them more interesting. You can charge both you iPod and your battery at the same time. These sets also work with the iPhone.

The Powerblock Reserve is essentially a transformed wall charger. You can plug the Powerblock reserve into your existing USB cable for iPhone or iPod charging via the USB port on the Powerblock Reserve. The included battery magnetically connects to the block. The power level is shown with three bright yellow lights and a large power indicator button on the top surface.

APC UPB10 Mobile Power Pack for Charging Mobile Devices

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

This Mobile Power Pack by APC is worth $61.46 on Amazon for a new device. It works great. Any mobile device that uses the USB as a power source can be charged using it. I have an iPod as well as a PSP. Both charge beautifully with this device.

It was not as large as I expected and held its charge better than I thought. I use other APC products at home and this works just as well as the others. I carry it around in my pant pocket at times and it fits well.

The iPod is indeed a very powerful portable multimedia device. With it, you will be able to store and listen to thousands of your favorite digital audio files, and the latest iPod generations will also be able to let you watch your favorite videos or movies.

However, powerful as the iPod may be, not charging and leaving your iPod to completely drain the battery will render it powerless. So, what if you are in a very secluded area where you don’t have any access to any nearby power outlet in order for you to charge your iPod?

The iPod is basically a portable multimedia device where it will be able to provide you with a way to listen to music on the go. You can consider it like the walkman but the iPod is much smaller and handles digital audio files. Also, the iPod can store and let you listen to thousands of your favorite music while you are on the go.

Another great thing about the iPod is that the battery life is quite long. Also, the battery is rechargeable which means that whenever your iPod battery gets drained, you can just charge it again and continue enjoying your music. (more…)

As a proud owner of an iPod, you will indeed fill it up with your favorite songs and listen to it wherever you go. With the iPod, you will be able to take your music with you anywhere you go and listen to it whenever you want. Whether it is working in your office, or when you hang out at your friend’s house, or even when you are exercising at the gym, the iPod will be there to keep you from getting bored.

However, you also need to consider that although the iPod will be able to provide all these benefits, it is still a portable electronic device that is powered by a battery. Rapid Car Charger for Apple iPod/ Mini/ Nano/ Video/ iPhone: Vendor Bargaincell

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

At a really great price on Amazon.com, you don’t have much to lose on this Apple iPod Rapid Car Charger for Apple iPod/ Mini/ Nano/ Video/ iPhone by Vendor Bargaincell in terms of money. However, this charger really tested my patience. This charger is not so cheap without a reason. BOTH chargers I got turned out defective.

After plugging the first charger into my car’s 12 V power port, it did not charge my iPod photo even though it turned green. Although the charger indicated red briefly, it soon turned green and then was of no particular use.

Digital FM Transmitter and Auto Charger for the iPod by Kensington

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

The Kensington 33199 scores highly when compared with other transmitters in its class. I have owned a Belkin and a Griffin iTrip. Both are decent FM transmitters but they do not charge my iPod. In addition my Belkin ran on batteries that had a life of only 15 hours. The iTrip worked fine initially, then started to pick up static on all the FM stations. The static went away only when the iPod was in hand. Even after this the sound was unclear.

With this transmitter, it controls the volume on the iPod and I was not able to get the sound as loud as I wanted to. Even so, it was not too muted. The volume was decent.

Griffin 9501 – TRIPCBL iTrip Auto FM Transmitter and Auto Charger for iPod

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Among all the Griffin FM transmitters, this is the best one. The list price on Amazon.com is $69.99 and the offered price is $37.29.

I always suggest using the FM transmitter only after exhausting all other options. Use a cassette adapter in your car tape deck. Or use a direct connection. For home use, a real docking station might be a much better option.

iPod Rapid Travel Chargers

Friday, November 16th, 2007

The iPod has changed my life. This is why I like to get nifty iPod accessories that make the iPod fun to use. Sometimes these extra’s are quite necessary. The BargainCell Rapid Travel Charger for iPod costs just $1.89. It has worked quite well for me. From some stuff I have read on the net, it causes problems with the iPod. I haven’t had a problem so far. It is used often.

The iPod battery runs for a shorter time than under test conditions because users are often using its other features, not just listening to music. One feature that uses up a lot of battery is the shuffle feature. Also the backlight uses up a lot of power. (more…)

Home Chargers for iPod

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

Although the iPod is a magnificent device that will let you listen to thousands of favorite tunes while you are on the go, you need to remember the fact that this is still an electronic device that runs on batteries. The iPod can last for long hours if you continuously play music and videos but it lasts longer if you don’t use it, for obvious reasons.

However, you need to remember that no matter how you use your iPod, the batteries will eventually drain and you will need to recharge it. (more…)
